Now Up on Kindle!

Friday, December 4th, 2009

Here it is, folks: Seeing Through Clouds is on Kindle!

It took a little longer to appear because I had to make some changes after the initial launch, which “reset the clock” on Amazon’s review process — which is still pretty fast!

In addition to reading it on a Kindle, you can now read it on your PC and on your iPhone too. So if your holiday gift-giving includes a new computer or iPhone loaded up with good holiday reading, please think about introducing him or her to the story of Erich, Beate, and their adventures. And Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah to all!

Coming Soon to the Kindle Store!

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Want to take Seeing Through Clouds with you everywhere you go? I’m happy to report that it will soon be available in the Kindle Store on Amazon.com!

I followed the excellent advice of fellow Maryland Writers’ Association member Carol Plotnick in her blog post, “Publishing for Kindle.” After a few false starts (getting all those umlauts to format was tricky!), I now have a clean version uploaded and under review. When it goes live, I’ll let you know!

What’s next, Seeing Through Clouds for Twitter? Hmm…

Seeing Through Clouds on YouTube!

Well, a TV interview with Paul, that is!

I know it’s been a looooong time since I’ve posted here, but I’ve been busy writing a new novella (and starting another one), and serving as president of the MWA Baltimore Chapter and more.

But in the middle of all that, I’m excited to report, I was invited to appear as a guest author on WOCV Channel 19, a local station serving the Oak Crest retirement community. The studio kindly gave me a copy of the interview and encouraged me to share it on the web! Thanks, WOCV!

Here’s part one (click “Read the rest of this entry” to see parts two through five):

Elegant “Manned Cloud” Airship Evokes Zeppelin Heyday

Friday, January 18th, 2008

Manned CloudCheck out this spectacular design for an airship — the “Manned Cloud” by French designer Jean-Marie Massaud. Massaud envisions his giant airship as a flying hotel — just like the Zeppelin company thought of the Hindenburg and Graf Zeppelin airships. But this huge ship has a few extra features that even Erich and his crew could have only dreamed of, including a restaurant, a library, a gym, and even a spa. And, believe it or not, Manned Cloud will have a sun deck on top!

Manned Cloud is designed to carry 40 passengers — about the same complement as Erich’s ship, the Graf Zeppelin II — and a crew of 15 for cruises of up to 5,000 km. It’s still in the design stage, so there’s no word on when we might be seeing one of these. What I want to know is, when can I buy tickets?

Baltimore Authors Showcase!

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

I’ll be appearing at the Maryland Writers’ Association’s premiere Baltimore Authors Showcase as one of six featured authors on Saturday, August 18 at 1:30! The event will be at the historic Canton library in southeast Baltimore. If you’re in the neighborhood, please stop by!

The showcase features six local fiction authors who are MWA members, and whose work has been published in books or periodicals. Future showcases promise to feature published poets, memoirists, and writers in other popular genres.
You can find more details about the showcase here. The event is co-sponsored by the Baltimore Chapter of the MWA, of which I have the privilege to be president. But I promise I didn’t pull any strings to appear at this event! :-D
